Timeless, serene, and deeply rooted in India's most iconic craft tradition — this Hand Block Printed Pure Cotton Mulmul Saree in deep indigo blue is a masterpiece of natural resist-printing artistry. Crafted from the finest pure cotton mulmul — gossamer-soft, featherlight, and supremely breathable — this saree is printed using traditional Bagru, Dabu, and Batik techniques with pure vegetable dyes, making it a wholly natural, skin-safe, and earth-conscious creation that honours both wearer and craft.
The Craft This saree brings together three of India's most revered hand-printing traditions:
- Bagru Printing — Hand-stamped geometric and floral motifs using hand-carved wooden blocks, in the centuries-old tradition of Bagru artisans of Rajasthan
- Dabu Printing — A traditional mud-resist technique using black clay paste applied before dyeing, creating the characteristic soft-edged, textured reserve patterns that define this saree's all-over depth
- Batik — A wax-resist method producing the signature fine crackle lines and fluid, painterly transitions that add visual complexity to the overall composition All colours are derived from pure vegetable / natural dyes — indigo extracted from the indigofera plant, yielding that deep, luminous blue that only natural indigo can produce. Skin-safe, biodegradable, and richer with every wash.
The Body The deep indigo body is covered wall-to-wall in an intricate all-over geometric floral jaal — a dense lattice of eight-pointed star medallions, each radiating fine petal and dot work, connected by flowing diamond grid lines filled with tiny floral and leaf infills. The Dabu mud-resist creates the ivory-white reserve pattern against the indigo ground — producing the characteristic soft, living quality of handmade resist work where no two repeats are perfectly identical. The overall effect is immersive and meditative — a deep blue tapestry of extraordinary detail that rewards close inspection endlessly.
The Border & Pallu The border is a bold running band of interlocking wave and diamond geometric motifs — a classic Bagru border composition in white on indigo — with fine dot-and-dash micro-detailing creating a layered, rhythmic frame. A secondary inner stripe of small scrolling vine or bead motifs adds further depth within the border band. The pallu shifts into a richer, darker indigo ground — deep navy — bearing large-scale geometric medallion compositions and bold paisley-influenced motifs in white, creating a dramatic deepening of tone as the saree unfurls in a drape. A bold scrolling wave band marks the transition between body and pallu, and the pallu end features the characteristic Batik crackle texture for an authentically artisanal finish.
Blouse Piece The included blouse piece is crafted in deep indigo cotton mulmul with coordinating Bagru geometric block print detailing — sleek, minimal, and perfectly matched for a complete, cohesive look.

Care Instructions Gentle hand wash in cold water separately. Use mild natural detergent. Do not soak. Do not wring. Dry in shade to preserve the natural indigo dye. First wash may release excess indigo — this is natural and expected. The colour deepens and enriches beautifully with gentle washes over time.
Ideal For Everyday elegance, office wear, cultural events, art festivals, casual festive occasions, and gifting — for the woman who finds beauty in restraint, depth in simplicity, and wears her values as naturally as she wears her saree.
